Your ICONIC Design Identity is

The Statement Maker

Design isn’t decoration for you — it’s self-expression made visible

Core Truth

Your home isn’t meant to be neutral.
It’s meant to be a self-portrait: confident, joyful, and beautifully human.

You’re here for colour, contrast, and spaces that feel alive. The goal isn’t to “play it safe.”
It’s to walk into your home and think: “Yep. That’s me.”

Your Statement Maker Design Identity (Quick Read)

You’re drawn to:

  • Color that makes a statement

  • Pieces with personality (not “matching sets”)

  • Art + objects that feel like stories

  • A home that gives you permission to be fully expressed

You don’t want a showroom.
You want a space that feels like: “Oh. She lives here.”

The Statement Maker Design Rules (Do This Today)

1) Choose One Hero Color

Pick one color you’re obsessed with right now (cobalt, fuchsia, emerald, burnt orange, etc.).
Use it in two places in the same room (pillow + art, vase + rug detail, etc.).
That creates boldness without chaos.

Mini rule: bold looks expensive when it’s repeated with intention.

2) Stop “Matching.” Start Curating

Statement homes don’t match. They collect.
Instead of asking “does this go?” ask:

“Does this feel like me?”

Quick test: if it makes you smile, it belongs.

3) Add a Statement Piece That Starts the Room.

Bold design is easiest when you let one piece lead:

  • a wild sofa

  • a graphic rug

  • an oversized art piece

  • a sculptural light

Once you choose your “main character,” everything else becomes supporting cast.

4) Use Contrast Like a Designer

Statement and bold doesn’t mean “more stuff.” It means contrast:

  • smooth + textured

  • vintage + modern

  • bright + deep

  • playful + refined

If your room feels “flat,” it’s missing contrast, not another decor item.

5) Make One Corner a Permission Slip

Choose ONE small area (a shelf, entry table, bedside) and make it purely expressive:

  • the weird art

  • the bright tray

  • the sentimental object

  • the unexpected color

This is how you give yourself permission to express who you truly are.

Your “Design Block” (and the Fix)

Your biggest challenge: second-guessing your taste.

You don’t need better taste.
You need self-trust.

So here’s your micro-mantra:

“If I love it, it belongs.”

(That line alone will change your home.)
